Parish Staff

Rev. Helber Victoria, Pastor.

Fr. Helber was born in Colombia on December 27, 1975 in Tarqui-Huila. He is the sixth of eleven siblings. He went to the seminary when he was seventeen years old and studied at the Cristo Sacerdote in Yarumal-Antioquia. There he finished school majoring in philosophy. He completed his theology training in La Ceja-Antioquia. His degree is in Philosophy and Religious Education

He arrived in the US in 2006. Was ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Newark, by Archbishop John Joseph Myers on May 26, 2007 and assigned to St. Elizabeth Parish as Parochial Vicar. Five years later he went to St. Mary Star of Sea in Bayonne. In 2013 was assigned to Our Lady of the Lake, Verona and 2014 assigned Pastor of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Jersey City.

Rev. Eustace Edomobi D. Min, Parochial Vicar.

Fr. Eustace joined our Parish Staff in February, 2014. A Priest from Nigeria, Fr Eustace migrated to the United States in 1988 and joined Archdiocese of Newark in 1989. Since then he has served the Archdiocese in different capacities, such as, Certified Hospital Chaplain (University Hospital Newark); Parochial Vicar (St. Antoninus Newark, St Raphael’s Livingston and St Theresa’s Kenilworth); Director of Pastoral Care (St Michael Medical Center Newark), and as a Pastor (St Joseph’s Maplewood).

Fr Eustace brings with him many years of experience in Pastoral Ministry and Marriage/Family Counseling. He believes that loving people is very important for ministry, but loving God is more important and comes first; and that nothing will carry us through the difficulties of Parish ministry than sincere devotion to Jesus Christ and love for one another. We are happy to have him join our Parish Family.

Deacon Cesar Sarmiento, Baptism Ministry Coordinator

Born February 12, 1949 in the Philippines.
Has degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Accounting.
Migrated to the U.S. in 1971 and parishioner of St. Mary since 1977.
Married to Lourdes Baisas. They have three daughters, all married.
Fourth degree Knight of Columbus.
Recipient of Jubilee Medal Pro Meritis for distinguished service to the
Archdiocese of Newark.
Ordained Deacon on June 11, 2005.

Deacon Leopoldo Polanco. Spiritual director of Altagracia and Legion of Mary

Leopoldo has born in Bani, Dominican Republic on November 14, 1935, he has 78 years old, married with 3 children, 3 grandchildren.

He lives in Downtown Jersey City, emigrated to US in 1970, living in New Jersey for 37 years, he was ordering as deacon April 11, 1981. He previously serve to the Saint Boniface Church since 1978, actually he serve at Saint Mary Parish. He is Spiritual Director of Legion of Mary, Asoc. Altagracia. At present he visit the hospitals and oldest people from 3rd. age and offered baptism classes.

Deacon Pedro Gonzalez. Prayer groups Coordinator

Pedro was born in Puerto Rico, he emigrated to New Jersey in 1968 after his studies in University of Puerto Rico. He is married with Carmen Gonzalez, he has 3 children and 3 grand children.

He was ordering as Deacon in the Archdiocese of Newark on April 11, 1981. He has served the community of Downtown since his ordination in that year.
In the present he is working as Fire Safety Manager in Puerto Rican Lutering Housing Corporation.

Carmen Gonzalez, Secretary, Parish Secretary

Carmen Gonzalez, has been working as the parish secretary since the formation of what was Parish of the Resurrection in July 1997. Carmen is married to our Deacon Pedro Gonzalez, and they have been blessed with three children and three grandchildren. She continues to serve in that capacity with great love and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ and to the community of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.

Nube Parra, Parish Assistant and Bookkeeper

Born in Ecuador and moved to New Jersey ten years ago. Nube came from a catholic family and since she was a little girl she has been involved in Church’s programs. When she completed her sacraments she started to participate as a Lector, Catechist and coordinator of a Youth group in Ecuador.

Nube worked over four years as Bookkeeper and assistant at the same time. Graduated from College with a Social Science Degree and finishing her Bachelors in Psychology in New Jersey University. Nube became part of Mary’s staff in 2017.

Ysis Acosta, Part Time, Maintenance

Was born in Dominican Republic. Came to USA in 1990. Father of three children.

Part time, Maintenance. Ysis started working since 1987 for the Parish of St Bridget. Actually works for the Parish of St Mary’s Parish.
