Parish Staff

Rev. Eustace Edomobi D. Min, Pastor.


Fr. Eustace joined our Parish Staff in February, 2014. A Priest from Nigeria, Fr Eustace migrated to the United States in 1988 and joined Archdiocese of Newark in 1989. Since then he has served the Archdiocese in different capacities, such as, Certified Hospital Chaplain (University Hospital Newark); Parochial Vicar (St. Antoninus Newark, St Raphael’s Livingston and St Theresa’s Kenilworth); Director of Pastoral Care (St Michael Medical Center Newark), and as a Pastor (St Joseph’s Maplewood).

Fr Eustace brings with him many years of experience in Pastoral Ministry and Marriage/Family Counseling. He believes that loving people is very important for ministry, but loving God is more important and comes first; and that nothing will carry us through the difficulties of Parish ministry than sincere devotion to Jesus Christ and love for one another. We are happy to have him join our Parish Family.

Deacon Cesar Sarmiento, Baptism Ministry Coordinator


Born February 12, 1949 in the Philippines.
Has degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Accounting.
Migrated to the U.S. in 1971 and parishioner of St. Mary since 1977.
Married to Lourdes Baisas. They have three daughters, all married.
Fourth degree Knight of Columbus.
Recipient of Jubilee Medal Pro Meritis for distinguished service to the
Archdiocese of Newark.
Ordained Deacon on June 11, 2005.

Rev. Duberley Salazar, Parochial Vicar


On September 1, 2020, we welcome Fr. Duberley Salazar to St. Mary's Parish as the new Parochial Vicar.

Deacon Pedro Gonzalez. Prayer Groups Coordinator


Pedro was born in Puerto Rico, he emigrated to New Jersey in 1968 after his studies in University of Puerto Rico. He is married with Carmen Gonzalez, he has 3 children and 3 grand children.

He was ordering as Deacon in the Archdiocese of Newark on April 11, 1981. He has served the community of Downtown since his ordination in that year.
In the present he is working as Fire Safety Manager in Puerto Rican Lutering Housing Corporation.

Carmen Gonzalez, Parish Business Manager


Carmen has been working as Parish Secretary since the formation of what was Parish of the Resurrection on July 1997.

She is married to our Deacon Pedro Gonzalez and have been blessed with three children: Melissa, Melanie and Pedro, Jr. and three beautiful grandchildren.

As of September 1, 2020, Carmen has taken on the responsibility of Parish Business Manager and will continue to serve in that capacity with great love and devotion to our Lord, Jesus Christ, and the Parish Community of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.

Freddy Burke, Director of Religious Education


Federico ‘Freddy’ Burke was born on a winter day in 1998. Freddy is the only son of Luz Burke and Peter Burke. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Freddy attended P.S. #5, before transferring to Resurrection School, a Peaceable School for grades 3-8. He is a Graduate of Saint Peter's Prep, Class of 2016, and the Catholic University of America, Class of 2020, with a degree in Theology and Religious Studies and Certificate in Pastoral Ministry.

Freddy has been part of Saint Mary’s Parish and community since he was 5 years old. He has served as Religious Ed teacher previously and as an Altar Server here at St. Mary's Parish since 2006; and rotates between being a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister. Freddy is the current president of the Catholic Action of Mary and organizer of the annual Santacruzan and Flores de Mayo celebration. Freddy additionally works with the Filipino Apostolate of the Archdiocese of Newark - Hudson County.

On September 1, 2020 Freddy accepted the responsibility to be DRE for St Mary’s. We are happy to have him join our Parish Staff and wish him well in his ministry.

Alexis M. Zhu, Office Assistant


Alexis graduated from Parish of the Resurrection, St. Mary's elementary in 2003.

She and her mother, Tessie, are part of Catholic Action of Mary (CAM). In 2006, she was Reyna De Las Flores in the Santacruzan.

She graduated from Seton Hall University in 2011. Alexis is married to Andrew Zhu and currently has no children. As of June 2021, we welcome Alexis to the parish staff.

Deacon Leopoldo Polanco. Spiritual Director of Altagracia and Legion of Mary


Leopoldo was born in Bani, Dominican Republic on November 14, 1935, he is 86 years old, married with 3 children, 3 grandchildren.

He lives in Downtown Jersey City, emigrated to US in 1970, living in New Jersey for 37 years, he was ordained as Deacon April 11, 1981. He previously served Saint Boniface Church since 1978, and now he serves at Saint Mary Parish. He is Spiritual Director of Legion of Mary, Asoc. Altagracia. At present he visit the hospitals and oldest people from 3rd. age and offered baptism classes.
